Lauren Crawford

As her career has taken many turns, Lauren maintains the unique ability to deliver in seemingly impossible circumstances.  Lauren started working with government affairs and lobbying offices in Washington, DC through an educational non-profit organization. She took her relationships to her next position in campaign consulting and applied the same tactics of political campaigns to the legislative setting. Lauren has now coordinated several of the largest legislative public affairs campaigns in Washington, through educating and elevating constituent voices. Lauren knows what trade associations and corporations need to do, outside of Washington, DC, to ensure their constituency speaks up.

From her strategic role with companies and associations, through candidate campaigns, and up to now, Lauren has enabled a countless number of individuals and constituents to speak out on critical issues being debated on Main Street, in Washington, DC and in state capitols across the country. Crawford skillfully orchestrates grassroots teams across all fifty states in Locust Street Group’s network. She has run campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and managed over 120 field operatives throughout 2009 alone. Her work allows turnkey access for clients to scale employee or constituent responses to legislators at any point in any key policy debate. Most recently, Lauren shepherded multi-million dollar campaigns for companies and trade associations in healthcare, finance, and hospitality industries.

Outside of her work in Washington, Lauren also uses her GOTV background to help Democratic Candidates. Lauren ended up on a political campaign on Locust Street in Des Moines, Iowa for the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign, and was quickly tasked with pulling together several key field components in preparation for the historic Iowa Caucuses of 2008. Hardened by Iowa winters and field campaigns across the country, her campaign work has brought her to Iowa, Nevada, Washington, Ohio and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). She has previous experience working for an educational nonprofit organization, the British Embassy Press Office and conducting constituent work for Senator Maria Cantwell.

Lauren is active in the DC community as a member of the Junior League of Washington and an advisor to undergraduates at the University of Maryland, College Park. Crawford received her Bachelor's from the University of San Diego and received a Masters in Government from Johns Hopkins University, magna cum laude. She has completed four marathons and is working to qualify for the Boston Marathon.

Joe Maloney

Maloney brings to Locust Street Group clients nearly a decade of experience on Capitol Hill, political campaigns, and corporate public policy campaigns.

Beginning his career in Congress as a legislative aide to Rep. Peter Deutsch (D-FL), Joe started his path out of college answering phone call requests, emails, and letters to the Congressional office.  Later, Joe took on a portfolio of domestic policy issues and helped to coordinate the office’s appropriations requests.

Ultimately interested though in direct advocacy and building organizations, Joe bolted Capitol Hill for Iowa, where he ended up on Locust Street in Des Moines at the John Kerry for President headquarters as a key member of the field team that engineered Kerry’s primary victory.

Since then, Joe has led field and communications operations on behalf of state, local, and national candidates across the country, as well as working with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) on Get-Out-The-Vote efforts and political operations.

In addition to his political campaign efforts, Joe has for over seven years worked with national trade associations and Fortune 50 companies in managing grassroots, public affairs campaigns.  In employing cutting edge technology, sound management skills, and effective organizing tactics, Joe aims to outflank opponents on hotly debated policy battles in Washington and in state capitols on behalf of LSG clients.

A native of Holyoke, MA, Joe graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Dickinson College, where he also played football. He is an avid fan of the New England Patriots, a recent devotee of Crossfit, and remains hopelessly obsessed with someday becoming a single digit handicap golfer.
